A SAN delivers significant storage scalability and flexibility to an existing server configuration. No longer bound by physical capacity of a single server “box”, a SAN provides a dynamic pool of storage, which can be expanded and allocated during production hours. In addition, SAN allows you to reallocate storage from one server to another, create instant snapshot backups or copy entire server environments to other machines in a few minutes.
